Fares

Airfreighting fare = fare per kilo x shipment total weight. Beyond 10kg, it's a tapering rate: more the total weight of the shipments of the AWB is high, less the rate per kilo is high. For the shipments with a unit weight superior to 50kg, an all-in tax of 5000 XPF per block of extra 25kg will have to be paid.


Minimum fare : a minimum fare per AWB is applied on every destination.

Volume fare : for voluminous shipments (beyond 6 dm3/kg), a "weight-volume" will be calculated considering the place taken in the holds.

The obtained fictitious weight is multiplied per the weight rate applicable on the journey to make.

This calculated weight will serve as a base for the calculation if it's superior to effective weight. If not, the effective weight will be used.

Exemple : an empty cool box with sizes 80 cm x 40 cm x 60 cm will be considered having a weight of 32 kg (in reality, it may just weight 5kg).


Freight security surcharge: in front of the obligation to conform to regulation as regards safety and so to only transport securitized freight from Tahiti Faa'a stopover, Air Tahiti had to implement a system allowing the control of all the shipments throught an inspection by x-ray. This treatment leads to the application of a freight security surcharge of 25XPF/KG.

Special declaration of interest on value

You have the possibility to make a "special declaration of interest on value" in order to raise the guarantee of the carrier in case of damage, delay or loss.

In that case, the rate is equal to regular rate of sending raised of 5% of the declarated value.


Valuables

For the valuables (for exemple nucleus, jewels, currencies, …) which the value exceeds 100.000 F CFP, the sender will have to declare and insure them by doing a "special declaration of interest on value".

For these sendings, Air Tahiti reserves the right to refuse the transport if it's considered that the declarated values are superior to the guarantees the company is in position to offer.
