destination pirogue titi ai tonga / titi ai tonga boat coup d oeil sur aitutaki a 220 km au nord de rarotonga, aitutaki est une ile volcanique «basse», dont le plus haut point, maungapu, s eleve a 124 metres. il y a egalement une quinzaine de motu disperses autour du fantastique lagon d environ 15 km du haut vers le bas, et 12 km de large. les 2 200 habitants vivent sur l ile principale, autour du village d arutanga. aussi etrange que cela puisse paraitre, il n y aucun chien sur aitutaki. les habitants n en veulent pas : trop chasseurs, ils troublent l equilibre des principaux hotes de cette ile : cochons, chevres et poules. aitutaki at a glance aitutaki is a "low" volcanic island (it's highest peak, maungapu rises to only 124 meters) 220 kilometers north of rarotonga. there are about 15 islets scattered along the reef that encloses the fantastic lagoon that is about 15 kilometers long and 12 kilometers wide. the 2,200 inhabitants live on the interior island around the village of arutanga. strangely enough, there are no dogs on aitutaki. this is because the inhabitants don't want them; they claim the animals disrupt the balance by hunting their staple providers, pigs, goats and hens. la magnifique eglise d aitutaki / beautiful aitutaki s church
