Soirée de Gala du Lions club

Chaque année, le Lions club de Papeete organise un gala afin de récolter des fonds qui permettront de soutenir financièrement diverses causes, en particulier, la jeunesse méritante de Polynésie. Le 11 juin 2011, à l'hôtel InterContinental Tahiti Resort a donc eu lieu la soirée de gala marquant le 51ème anniversaire de la remise de la charte du Lions club international au Lions club de Papeete, c'est- à-dire sa création officialisée en 1961 par la remise de la charte internationale des Lions Club. Une date d’anniversaire importante donc et une soirée festive qui a permis de lever des fonds pour financer différents projets. Dans cette même perspective, Air Tahiti apporte régulièrement sa contribution à cette association.

The Lions Club Gala Night Each year, the Lions Club of Papeete organizes a gala to raise funds that will provide financial support to various causes,

in particular, deserving youths of Polynesia. On June 11, 2011 at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort Hotel was held a gala marking the 51st anniversary of the granting of the Charter of the Lions Club International to the Papeete Lions Club, i.e. its creation in 1961 formalized by the delivery of the International Charter of the Lions Club. An important anniversary date and therefore a festive evening, which helped raising

funds to finance various projects. In the same perspective, Air Tahiti is a regular support to this association.

Tahiti Rautirare Open For its second edition, this surfing competition, sponsored by Tahitian champion Michel Bourez (ranked among the top 15 surfers in the world), was held from June 24 to 29, 2011 on the Taharuu surfing spot in the town of Papara on the west coast of the island of Tahiti. Michel Bourez thus bring his reputation for the benefit of his club, Rautirare Surf Club, to raise funds to continue to help young people in surfing and at the same time, to participate in crime prevention. The concept of the event was to make this competition a forum for exchange and promotion of this sport. In parallel were held some concerts, a beach soccer tournament and a paddleboard race whose winner, Eric Leou, was rewarded by Air Tahiti. This new edition of the Rautirare Open was won, in the category of the Senior Open, by the Tahitian Steven Pierson and Mataiea Hiquily in Junior Open.

Tahiti Rautirare Open Pour sa seconde édition, cette compétition de surf, parrainée par le champion tahitien Michel Bourez (classé dans le top 15 des surfeurs mondiaux), s’est tenue du 24 au 29 juin 2011 sur le spot de Taharuu dans la commune de Papara sur la côte Ouest de l'île de Tahiti. Michel Bourez a ainsi mis sa notoriété au profit de son club, le Rautirare Surf Club, afin de récolter des fonds pour continuer à accompagner les jeunes dans la pratique du surf et participer dans le même temps à la prévention de la délinquance. Le concept de l'événement était de faire de cette compétition un lieu d'échange et de promotion du sport. En parallèle se sont déroulés des concerts, un tournoi de beach soccer ainsi qu’une course de paddle board dont le vainqueur, Eric Leou On, a été récompensé par Air Tahiti. Cette nouvelle édition de la Rautirare Open a été remportée dans la catégorie Open Senior par le tahitien Steven Pierson et Mataiea Hiquily en open junior. phoTos © Alex lAurel
