Security policy and data confidentiality in e-services

Each time personal data is collected online, Air Tahiti strives to include a link to these general terms and conditions. We retain the right to modify these conditions, and therefore encourage you to refer to them on a regular basis.

Security

Securing transactions
We provide our customers with a secure online payment system, using the latest available technology and, in particular, the SSL data exchange protocol.
The SSL server’s software encodes (or “encrypts”), using algorythms, the data you enter (bank information, address, etc…) before sending it over the Internet. Once encrypted, the data remains coded during its transmission on the web, and can only be read by our server, using a unique decryption key.
The encryption is done with SSL v3, 128-bits encryption keys : it is the SSL protocol currently offering the highest level of security.
You can thus be certain to buy your ticket in full confidentiality and safety.

General guidelines
When you create an account, you choose a login and password that will be required to modify your account’s information. Your profile and your data will be protected by a password so that you, and you alone, have access to this personal information. We recommend that you do not reveal it to anyone. You are solely responsible for preserving the confidentiality of your password and/or any information related to your profile.

In addition, you should remember to disconnect your profile and close your browser’s window when you finish your session, particularly if you share a computer with others for Internet access. You will avoid other users to access your personal information.

Protection of privacy and personal data

Air Tahiti’s information system is registered with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés) under number 714916.

In accordance with the January 6, 1978 decree on computers and freedom (articles 31-32), you have the right to access, rectify and remove of your personal information. You may ask the removal of your personal data by simply clicking on the following link

Personal information collected on this web site

Air Tahiti collects different types of data for its various online services. Air Tahiti is concerned to protect the personal information you give us. We pledge to respect the confidentiality of data transmitted to us. You retain control at all times over your personal information. If you delete your profile, you will lose access to online information services available though login and password. By the choices you make and the information we keep, you allow us to know you better and better meet your expectations.

The information we ask you to fill in on our website is as follows :

civil information (marital status, last name, first name, date of birth, postal address, telephone)
your delivery address if needed
your billing address, if different.
your e-mail address (personal or professional) to receive booking confirmations and any correspondence and subscription to our newsletter, to retrieve a lost login or password…
your passport number (compulsory information in case of travel to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands)

More generally, we will also keep :

a history of bookings and purchases you have made, the web site pages you visited and the type of browser you use.
about e-mail correspondence : the contents of your e-mails, your address and our answers.

Data processing
The collected data can be used for promotional, commercial or information purposes, by Air Tahiti or its affiliates only, under various forms.
We may use this data in any kind of studies aimed at improving our services.

Under very exceptional circumstances, Air Tahiti may legally have to share confidential information required to identify, arrest or prosecute any individual who may prejudice, intentionally or not :

Air Tahiti’s rights or property
other users of Air Tahiti’s web site
any other person who may be harmed by such activities.

The communication of personal data may occur exceptionally when Air Tahiti is legally obliged to do so, for instance after the filing of a legal complaint.

AIR TAHITI striving, within the French legal framework, to secure and protect its clients’ personal data, reminds them that a certain amount of information is compulsory to make a booking and establish a contract of transportation, and that the right of opposition they may exercise under article 32 of decree 78-17 of January 6, 1978 concerning computers, electronic files and freedom would result in the cancellation of their trip or some of the requested services.
